RafflesAs of Wednesday, March 28th we now have a new puppy! yay!
His name is Raffles (after Sir Stamford Raffles - founder of Singapore). He is a Maltese dog born in Singapore on the 10th of January.
I will put up some video of him soon, he is still in the process of being potty trained, but at least we don't have a lot of carpet in the house. He is doing a good job.
Hope you are all well!!
Josh Xbox Weekend.....and Easter too....Hello again!
Well another week has gone by, but this week ended with a holiday on Friday (Good Friday) and a visit to Funan Digital Mall where we purchased a new Xbox360. After trying to decide among the Sony PS3 and the Nintendo Wii, we decided to go with the Microsoft Xbox360. It is great!! We have been giving it a good work out with Guitar Hero 3, Halo 3 and FIFA Soccer. Woo hoo!! Fun times had by all. Now we are just waiting for Iron Chef America to come out on Xbox.
This morning we had a couple of massage people come to the apartment to give us a massage. We haven't done that in a long time, but it was nice to do that again.
Last Thursday night we went out to Great World City to see the movie " Semi-Pro" starring Will Farrell and Woody Harelson. It was a pretty good movie. Ivy bought the promotional package whereby we also received a new shoe bag along with a corn dog, chips and soft drink. That was a good deal.
Other than that, things have pretty much been "same same".
As you may have noticed, I changed the layout of the blog. Now there are two video windows, one of the most current Singapore video and the other of my favorites on YouTube.
Hope you are all well!
Josh
Weekend is here!Hello everyone!
This week went by quickly! It is Friday night at about 9pm. We just got done wacthing an episode of Heroes (Season 1) and Alias (Season 1). I had 2 grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner. yummy. Ivy and I are planning on seeing the movie "Vantage Point" this weekend, so that will be fun! We are also planning on going to Ikea for a spot of shopping tomorrow morning. We need to get some napkins and a candy dish.
This is a picture of Ivy in front of the movie theatre that we usually go to.
Other than that, not too much new going on over here......it keeps raining a lot over here, but hopefully this weekend will be nice.
Wishing you the best!
Josh Sky Cab TourGood day!
It is about 5pm in the afternoon here in Singapore. Ivy and I have had a pretty active day so far. We started off by having lunch at Al-Jilani's just a block or so way from the apartment. This is one of our favorite restaurants to have lunch. It is an outdoor restaurant (with extendable roof if it rains). I had my usual pratas and apple juice (fresh squeezed). I had 1 cheese prata and one peanut prata with a brown spicy sauce thing for dipping. It was very good. Ivy had her fried chicken biryani rice and orange juice.
After powering up on some delicious food, we headed off to Harbour Front (towards Sentosa) to take a ride on the Sky Cab. We didn't really know what it was going to be like, but thought it was a nice day to see Singapore and Sentosa Island from the sky.
We purchased round trip tickets for the glass bottom sky cab. Went through 3 different stations on the tour. It was great. Half way through the tour we were joined in our cab by a couple from Florida who were spending a couple of days in Singapore as part of their world cruise on Holland America Cruise Line.
All in all, it was great fun!!!
I have posted a video of this adventure on Youtube.com which you can see on the right of this page. The Youtube gadget shows the last 10 videos that I have added as favorites.
Hope you enjoy!
Take care
Josh Weekend~ yay!Hello again!!
Well, we have made it through the week and now getting ready for a relaxing weekend. It is Friday night at about 8:20pm. I have recovered from my foot surgery last week and am now able to walk without any pain. Actually, I have been able to walk without any pain since Monday, but i stayed home from work just in case. Round 2 of the surgery begins on Thursday of next week.
Had a new employee start this week and I will be training her for the next few months. She will be taking some of the work load off my desk, so that is relieving.
Ivy and I may go out for dinner with Meha and Sarvin on Sunday night, but that yet to be confirmed. For now, our plan for the weekend is to see the movie "10,000 BC". Yay! Looks like a pretty good movie. I have put a small video of the trailer to the right. Hope you enjoy!
Hopefully it doesn't rain this weekend.....it's been raining quite a bit this week.
Cheers,
Joshua Colombia, Venezuela and EcuadorColombia celebrates a victory against the FARC with the elimination of the FARC's second in command, Raul Reyes. This has caused a significant amount of tension between Colombia and its neighbors Venezuela and Ecuador. The tension has reached such a level that Ecuador and Venezuela have closed their embassies in Bogota. It is sad to see what is happening among these three countries. Ecuador and Venezuela have sent troops to the boarder to ensure that the Colombian military will not cross, as it had in its persuit of Raul Reyes. There are now implications of Venezuela and Ecuador working with and supporting the FARC.
This could turn into a nasty battle between them all. I just hope that it can be resolved with out their armies clashing.
The video to the right is Colombia's response to these events.
Por la paz
Josh Uniquely SingaporeJust added a quick promotional video on Singapore to the right. After that, you can see some of the videos I have done here.
You can turn off the music below by hitting the stop button on the Windows Media Player.
Hope you enjoy.
Josh No work MondayHello Again,
Well, it has been decided. I am not going to go to work on Monday. It is still just a bit too difficult to walk with out pain, so I figure it is best to stay at the apartment. Lucky for me, my job allows me to work from home every now and then. Most of what I need to do can be done on my little laptop here with me. Yay! I think that I will probably be ok to go back to work on Tuesday, but will take it one day at a time.
I added a couple of new modules to my blog here. Now on the top right you can see the latest videos that I have uploaded to YouTube and any other videos that I have marked as my "favorites". Hope you enjoy them! I also added two slide shows of pictures from our last two trips (Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur).
And of course, as you may have noticed by now, there is a streaming link to the online radio station that I listen to for my dose of musica latina. The station is called "EL ZOL" coming directly from Miami. Woo hoo!! Of course if you don't want to hear it you can stop the streaming from the embedded Windows Media Player at the bottom.
Today has been a very relaxing day so far. The maid, Bernice, is off today so Ivy and I are just resting. We are watching YouTube videos and listening to the online radio.
Hope everyone is doing well!!
take care
Josh
March has begunAs you can see I have been thinking about moving the blog back to the Windows Live Spaces platform. I think I will give this a try for a while and see how it goes. It is the first of March on Saturday night and I am resting from the foot surgery that I had yesterday. This laser procedure was much better than what I had gone through back in July of last year. Hopefully it works this time.
Wishing you the best.
Ivy and I are doing well.
Josh Air RevitalizerWe just purchased two of these to keep the air clean and revitalized. Yay! According to the materials it turns polluted air into purfied fragrant air! What more could you want???
We have chosen two fragrances. 1) Eucalyptus 2) Lemongrass. The first improves asthma and upper respiratory tract infections, alleviates bronchitis, sinus & flu. while the second repels insects, antiseptic & good for use in open areas. Josh |
